Springfield Memorial Gardens was founded in 1963 by Lowell Rhoden. It is the only perpetual care cemetery in Springfield. Located on a gently sloping hill in the Mohawk valley, it offers a beautiful setting for the permanent remembrance of those who have died. To more fully serve the needs of our community, a full service funeral home was built at the cemetery in the 1980's. After many years of ownership by a large, multinational corporation, in 2005 Springfield Memorial was purchased by the Musgrove family who has a long history of funeral service in Lane County.
Besides ground burial of caskets or urns, there are indoor as well as outdoor options for placement of the urn or casket. In 2009 the cemetery opened the Valley View room; a wonderful climate controlled indoor space with the feel of a Tuscan garden. This room has glass front niches for the placement of urns, as well as the Loving Companions columbarium for the placement of the urns of pets.
