A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 1 at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene for former longtime Eugene resident Mary Margaret DeYoung of Portland, who died June 20 of age-related causes. She was 91.
She was born on Oct. 1, 1918, in Eugene to Michael and Alice McCready Thompson. She married Harry DeYoung on Oct. 24, 1937, in Eugene. He died in 1989.
She graduated from Eugene High School in 1937. She worked as a school secretary in the Bethel School District and worked in visitor information services at the Convention and Visitors Association of Lane County Oregon.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Weston of Portland; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A son, Bill, died in 1989.
Remembrances to the University of Oregon Duck Athletic Fund, the Heart Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association.
